Ed Asato, an 80+ hockey player, wearing a helmet and face guard.

Ed Asato grew up in Chicago with a love for hockey but never had the opportunity to play during his youth.


In his late 50s, he was invited to join a team sponsored by Canadian co-workers, and he's never looked back.


Now 87 and playing in the San Jose Sharks Masters League over-60 division, Ed is the oldest player on the ice.

Norm Beaudin is one of the most decorated players in the USA 80+ Hockey Hall of Fame. 


A standout player who reached the Memorial Cup twice, he played in both the NHL and WHA, becoming the first player ever signed by the Winnipeg Jets. 


Playing alongside Bobby Hull on the famed Luxury Line, he recorded 103 points in the Jets inaugural WHA season and earned selection to the 1973 WHA All-Star Game.

Meet Jeanne Borofsky, of the dynamic husband-and-wife duo — Gerald & Jeanne Borofsky of Groton, MA.


For 30 years, Jeanne & Gerald organized and managed two weekly mixed-gender, all-ages pickup skates.


I began playing hockey 42 years ago, at the age of 40, when I played on a "mother's" team, playing against my 10 year old son's youth team.

Meet Gerald Borofsky, of the dynamic husband-and-wife duo — Gerald & Jeanne Borofsky of Groton, MA.


I began skating on ponds at approximately 5 years old. My father, who had played hockey at Boston University, had me holding a stick and passing the puck to him around the same time – even before I could really skate.


For roughly the last 40 years I played in “old timer” leagues.

Lionel Bourgeois began playing hockey as a child on the ponds and rivers of Bouctouche, New Brunswick. He lost his mother early, worked in the woods, and served in the Army,  stepping away from hockey for 10 years. 


He went back to the ice in his 30s and never looked back. At 63 he joined the Central MA Rusty Blades, an over-60 hockey club in Worcester, MA that skates three mornings a week year-rou

Herb Brennen began playing hockey as a young child in British Columbia and has remained dedicated to the game throughout his life. 


Over the decades, he has played competitive and recreational hockey across Canada and the United States, participating in numerous tournaments and senior hockey events. 


Herb currently serves as President of the 80+ Hockey Hall of Fame in Canada and is also an inducted

Mike Campbell was raised in a family of 16 in New Waterford, Nova Scotia, he developed a lifelong passion for hockey and remained active into his 90s, playing 3 days a week until age 93. 


A fierce, competitive defenseman, he spent 16 years as a coal miner, 30 more with the municipal water dept — raising 12 children after losing his wife at 50.

Norm Chouinard honed his hockey skills in Québec before playing collegiate hockey at ISU, leading the team to a 22-7-1 record. 


His impact extended well beyond playing: a Professor of Physical Education at the University of Ottawa.


Norm brought more than forty years of teaching and coaching experience to men's and women's university hockey and with consulting roles with Hockey Canada and the Ottawa

Vincent DiFusco grew up in New York City before moving to Long Island, where he became one of the earliest members and founders of the Old Pucks Hockey Club beginning in 1975. 


Originally a contact hockey club, Old Pucks later transitioned into a non-contact club focused on camaraderie, inclusion, and lifelong participation.

Barclay Frost has played hockey for more than 60 years, in pick-up and old-timers hockey. 


Recognized as one of Ottawa's oldest active goaltenders. Currently plays twice weekly with the Octokids, an Ottawa-area senior hockey group with an average player age over 82. 


In 2025, at 83, Barclay played in the Canada/USA 80+ Hockey Series in Burlington, ON — originally selected for Team Canada, he stepped

Peter "Skip" Fryling started playing hockey on Boston-area ponds at age 12, then played on his high school's first team, at Norwich University, and with the US Army Europe team. 


He's continued competing in senior tournaments and the Lake Placid Pond Hockey Tournament ever since.

Andy Grant, began playing hockey at age four in Sudbury, Ontario. After stepping away from the game for a period of time, he returned and continued playing throughout his life. 


He played intramural and junior hockey in Canada and later represented a USA team against Canada in the Canada Cup. 


Over the years, he has participated in many tournaments throughout the United States and Canada.

Brian Hayes learned hockey the way most kids in Minneapolis did in the 1950s — on backyard ice with his brothers, before graduating to neighborhood park rinks. 


He understood early that great ice didn't just happen. It took shoveling, flooding, and patience. That community ethic stayed with him all the way to Victor, Colorado.

2026 Inductees

John Healy began roller hockey in New York City at age 10, later playing collegiate hockey for Saint Francis College before transitioning fully to ice hockey after moving to New Jersey in 1984. 


A member of the CDR team for more than 50 years, he now competes primarily in 70+ tournaments. John has also coached high school and club teams, refereed, and played in local New Jersey leagues.

Doug Heatherington, a goaltender since 1952, grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan, he competed at a high level throughout his career — winning two Michigan State Open Championships with the Lansing Senators (1967–69) and playing semi-professionally in the Central Hockey League with the Wichita Flyers (1973–75). 


He went on to coach goaltenders at the collegiate and professional levels.

Joe Krackeler started on the ponds of Albany, New York, set the game aside for nearly three decades to focus on career and family, then returned in the late 1980s through adult recreation leagues in San Jose.


At 77 he discovered Snoopy's Senior World Hockey Tournament, joined a 75-plus team his first year, and won the division. 


At 80, he was invited onto Team USA's first-ever over-80 squad for the
